Your chance to sign up to Havering's Construction Supply Chain Initiative
The Havering Construction Supply Chain Initiative is a welcome attempt by the Council to open up their supply chains to local businesses
21 January 2019
A three-tier support service has been designed to help local firms secure contracts from the substantial housing developments that will take place over the next few years.
For firms that are already successfully supplying large contractors, the public sector the opportunities are ready and waiting. For those that need to improve their internal systems and procedures so they are fit to supply, or are completely new to the process, there is substantial support:
Construction database: a free database for local construction businesses to register their details so that Contractors such as Wates and Notting Hill Housing Group can source the right people with the right skills.
Meet the Buyers/Suppliers: hosting various events ranging from exhibitions to face-to-face meetings whereby senior decision makers meet potential suppliers.
Tender Readiness: supporting businesses to gain the appropriate knowledge to tender for work, and to position themselves to have a competitive edge when taking advantage of forthcoming developments in the borough (including access to apprenticeship programmes, and help to fill vacancies).
