The BID successfully secured grant funding towards a defibrillator which is now installed at the Security Gatehouse on the Fairview Industrial Park, with thanks to the British Heart Foundation.
After calling 999 and performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), using a defibrillator is the best way to increase the chances of someone surviving a cardiac arrest and every business should have at least one person on site with training.
If your premises have a defibrillator on site that your fellow BID Members could also use in an emergency, during working hours, please let us know at [email protected] and we will distribute the information to BID Members only so that we have a comprehensive list of all available kits in the BID area.
At least one member of your team should know emergency first aid and use of a defibrillator and we're pleased to confirm that we've negotiated some superb group rates for you for both Emergency First Aid Training (1 day course) and First Aid at Work Training (3 days), which include CPR and use of a defibrillator. These are usually held bi-monthly and future dates are published here and in our newsletter.
Please call the BID team on 01708 550279 to register your interest for the next 1 day 1st Aid Course, or to enquire about training for fully qualified First Aiders.
In the event of a cardiac arrest at your business premises, you should:
Call 999 immediately while someone carries out CPR and another person gets the nearest public defibrillator.
If the nearest is the BID defibrillator at Fairview Industrial Park Gatehouse, call the Security Projects guard on 07528 968073 for the defibrillator code to unlock the combination lock and access this defibrillator.
If you have a defibrillator on site that your fellow BID Members could also use in an emergency, during working hours, please let us know and we will distribute the information so that we have a comprehensive list of all available kits in the BID area.
