Summer 2021 - Ditch Clearing works
Ferry Lane North / Lamson Road
Working with the Council and Rainham Steel, the BID has part funded some ditch clearing works to aleviate some/all of the flooding in Ferry Lane North.
Extensive works have been carried out in the Ferry Lane North area - ditch cleaning / gully repair / drain connections have been completed. Working alongside Essex Water, the area has been jet cleaned and is now running freely along the length of Ferry Lane (north and south) down to the Thames.
There has been a tremendous improvement with flooding in these areas. Some local heavy rain recently saw the previous flooded areas clear so it is hoped as the winter weather sets in, there will be no flooding, or if the area suffers from very heavy rain over a short period of time, any flooding that occuers it will be quickly disperesed as the drain runs are clear.
Additional works to the culvert have now been completed (Sept 2020) at the entrance to Albright Industrail Estate. the cluvert when cleared runs away well and no futher works are anticapted at this location. Small clearing works are due to the top end of Lamson Road.
This has been a long drawn out project for the Council and they are confident when complete the surface water flooding issues will be resolved.
