Upgrades to LED lighting on the Lamson Road carriageway - project completed
Works have been completed to upgrade the carriageway lighting to LED lamps at Lamson Road
13 August 2018
New energy efficient LED lights will reduce costs and light coverage will be improved. THe BID is match funding this project, in partnership with Rainham Steel Ltd, as it recongises that LED lighting provides a number of benefits, with overall reduction in carbon footprint;
ENERGY EFFICIENCY – can save up to 80% electricity consumption. For Fairview Industrial Park, the results are already apparent with a projected energy saving of £2500 per annum
REDUCED LIGHT POLLUTION – LEDs provide directional, focussed lighting and so help reduce unwanted scattered light in the environment
LONGER LASTING - LED lights have a rated life of 30,000 to 50,000 hours which is many folds greater than the conventional counterparts. This longer life span reduces the need of bulb replacement after every few months, thereby reducing the need to dispose-off the old ones into the landfills.
DURABILITY – Their solid state technology means they are completely sealed and so highly resistant to vibrations, impact and harsh weather conditions.
REDUCED NOISE POLLUTION - Unlike other lighting technologies, LED lights do not generate any vibration or annoying humming noise.
NON-TOXIC - LED lights are free of chemicals that can be hazardous for environment or public health.
