The Metropolitan Police have issued the following information. When the BID receives further information we will update this page accordingly, alternatively more information may be added to the Met Website – www.met.police.uk
The President of the United States, Donal Trump is visiting the UK for an official state visit from the 3rd to the 5th June 2019
The visit will largely focus in London with official and state engagements on the 3rd and 4th June. Further details of the visit will be released by the Royal Household and HM Government in due course.
A significant security plan is being developed together with plans to police protest and endeavour to maintain business as usual for businesses, organisation, residents, visitors alike and keep disruption to a minimum.
Maps of the affected roads in central London are being finalised and will be circulated as soon as we are able. In particular restricted vehicles access around ceremonial areas: Constitution Hill, The Mall, Birdcage Walk, Whitehall and parliament Square. As well as some other periodic road closures to vehicles
Our aim is to provide as much information to help plan and prepare of the two main days in London. If you travel in by public transport, walk or cycle you are likely to be less affected.
Currently we are aware of intentions to protest by groups. These are currently focussed in Parliament Square on the evening of the 3rd and Trafalgar Square, Richmond terrace and Parliament Square during the day on the 4th – This is subject to variation and change
